The Sneakerhead?
Stadium Goods wanted a design for their booth at Sneaker Con Guangzhou that would make a splash for their brand among the sneakerhead attendees. Under the clarion cry ‘Heads Up!’ we created an idea designed to win the hearts of sneakerheads - getting inside their heads and capturing their souls. We had to talk to them on their terms, engaging them by showcasing the stuff they care about most in the style and visual language they themselves use. It had to be familiar but it also had to be spectacularly different. We explored how to combine the worlds of hip hop and sneaker culture using the designs of urban vinyl designer and avowed sneakerhead, Naughty Brain. We worked in tight collaboration with him to develop the figure which features the body of a street smart punk, his head replaced with a platform for displaying sneakers.
