在廣告人必爭之地的美國春晚——超級碗比賽上,愛在營銷上搞怪的彩虹糖,今年沒有花500萬美元去買廣告位。

而是!在比賽當天,在紐約百老匯演出了一場音樂劇,堂而皇之向觀眾收起了門票錢(20-200美元不等),并且在劇里,公然懟起了廣告……

那么,這場奇特的百老匯音樂劇營銷,到底是怎么回事?

這部舞臺劇由DDB和劇作家Will Eno共同創作,后者的戲劇《Thom Pain》曾入圍普利策戲劇獎決賽。

音樂劇的男主角是Michael C. Hall,曾主演長達八季的美劇《喋血法醫》(Dexter) ,也有著豐富的百老匯音樂劇演出經歷-《搖滾芭比》(Hedwig)、“Cabaret”、《芝加哥》(Chicago)、“Lazarus” (拉撒路)等等。

冷酷無情的連環殺手扮演者,歡樂逗趣的舞臺劇主角,真是鮮明反差萌~

作為一位百老匯音樂劇明星,去主演這支音樂劇不像音樂劇,廣告也不像廣告的廣告音樂劇,其實Michael的心理壓力也是很大的。在彩虹糖推出的宣傳片里,他還為此去看了心理醫生。

Ari Weiss是DDB北美的首席創意官,也是這次演出的制作人。他說,這次百老匯演出真正想要探尋的是商業行為在美國人生活中的角色,以及娛樂和市場營銷之間的模糊界限在哪里。

“還有什么比超級碗這種年度最大的營銷盛事更合適的時機呢?選擇百老匯音樂劇來做嘗試,因為我們想用一種真正有趣的方式去看一看商業行為,市場營銷,還有娛樂,什么是廣告,什么不是廣告,看一看他們之間的交集在哪里。”

一個腦洞清奇的創意,一位家喻戶曉的明星,一支強大的演出團隊,有且僅有一次的現場演出,只有1500位觀眾能有幸看到!

輿論又一次被彩虹糖瘋狂點燃。彩虹糖沒有花費500萬美金購買廣告位,卻達到了有過之而無不及的宣傳效果。

The live play starred Michael C. Hall and was arguably this year's best use of celebrity talent. The soundtrack, available on Spotify, is worth a listen and includes four minutes of Hall munching on the candies. We're hoping Skittles takes this one on the road.
